Acheron WorldDocumentation

Mobile mode

Joystick, action buttons and the HUD rearranged for a touch screen.

Acheron World runs on mobile with no app: it's the same page, with different controls. Touch mode turns on by itself when the browser is on a touch screen or when the window is 900 pixels wide or less.

If you need to force it, add ?mobile=1 at the end of the address to turn it on or ?mobile=0 to turn it off.

The controls#

Joystick (bottom left corner)#

Drag the circle to walk. Your character walks in the direction you point, and the command is re-sent while you hold. Release to stop. There's a dead zone in the center, so an accidental touch doesn't make your character walk off.

The joystick respects the camera rotation: up on the screen is always "away from you", not a fixed map direction.

Action buttons (bottom right corner)#

Three rows:

  1. Three skill buttons, mirroring slots 1, 2 and 3 of the computer bar — with the same icon and the same name. Hold to repeat.
  2. 🧪 HP, 🧪 MP and ✨ SKILL. The skill button uses the active skill on the current target; holding it repeats.
  3. ⚔ ATTACK — the big button. One tap attacks the nearest living monster, up to 16 tiles away. Hold to keep hitting.

To change which skills appear on those three buttons, tap ✎ (or an empty button) and pick from the bar that opens. With the bar open, tapping a button that already has a skill closes the bar and casts the skill.

How tapping skills works:

  • With no target marked, the tap goes to the nearest living monster — while walking with the joystick, the one ahead is preferred. If it dies before the hit goes out, the skill goes to the next nearest.
  • With your thumb on the joystick: tapping a skill makes the character stop, cast the skill and walk again on its own if your finger is still on the joystick.
  • Skill on cooldown: the button flashes and the skill goes out by itself as soon as the cooldown ends.
  • Not enough mana for the skill: the "Not enough mana" notice shows and a basic attack goes out.
  • A new character starts with the strongest attack skills it can already use on the three buttons (Castle Siege skills such as Stern are left out).

Long press#

Hold your finger on a monster for about half a second: the target locks and your character attacks nonstop until you release. If you drag your finger, the gesture is cancelled.

System buttons (top right corner)#

  • ☰ Menu — opens the MENU full screen: the main shortcuts at the top (Inventory, Char, Skills, Map, Guild, Shop), then the events with their live state and the other systems by category, as big buttons.
  • 💬 Chat — expands the chat.

What changes on the screen#

  • The side columns shrink. Quests, Events and Party are hidden to free up space; use the menu to reach them.
  • The bottom bar is scaled down proportionally, but stays whole: orbs, potions, skills and experience.
  • The menu bar goes away; everything is in ☰.
  • In the central window, in landscape, the title goes away and the tabs sit in a single strip at the top — more screen left for the page. Wide tables become cards, one per row.
  • The chat is collapsed by default — only the last lines, no tabs and no typing field, and without stealing your touch. When expanded, it fills the whole width and grows to up to a third of the height.
  • The central window takes almost the whole screen, and while it's open the touch controls disappear — you can't attack by accident while sorting your inventory.
  • The browser stops pinch-zooming and scrolling the page by accident.

Tips for playing on mobile#

  • Use MU Helper. On a small screen, hunting by hand is tiring. Turn the Helper on, leave your potions configured and follow along.
  • Put the three skills you use the most in slots 1, 2 and 3 before leaving the computer — they're the only ones that show up on mobile.
  • Simple phone, or heating up? In Options → Graphics, choose Light phone: dynamic resolution, locked 30 fps and fewer effects (what changes). On entry-level phones the game already starts on it.
  • On a small screen, the long press on a monster is usually more comfortable than the ⚔ button.
