Account security

Password, sessions, changing your password, signing out of every device and how the game protects your account.

Your account holds everything you've earned. This page explains what the game does to protect it and what you can do on the character screen.

The password#

A short, easy-to-remember phrase, like blue horse of lorencia, is stronger than a word full of symbols. Don't reuse the password from other sites.

Older accounts, created when the minimum was 4, still log in normally. We recommend changing to a password of 8 or more.

The Acheron World staff never asks for your password — not in chat, not on Discord, not by e-mail. Real game notices show up in chat with the system look; a character with a name similar to "SYSTEM" talks like any other player, with their name in front.

Too many wrong attempts#

Getting the password wrong doesn't lock your account forever, but the server holds back anyone trying to guess:

The wait applies to the account, wherever the attempt comes from. Get the password right and the count resets.

Creating many accounts in a row from the same connection is also limited. If you see "too many accounts created from this connection", try again later.

Sessions#

When you log in, the device keeps a session so it doesn't ask for your password every time:

• it lasts 7 days without use and at most 30 days since login — after that, just log in again;
• the Switch account button and the Quit option in the menu also end the session on the server, not only on the device.

On the character screen#

Next to "Switch account" there's the Account security button.

Change password#

Type your current password and the new one twice. When you change it, every other device is signed out — anyone playing with your account somewhere else drops right away. The device you're on stays connected.

Sign out of all other devices#

Left the account open on a friend's computer or on a phone? This button ends every session except the current one, including whoever is in the game at that moment.

Deleting a character asks for the password#

To delete a character, the game asks for the account password. That way, someone who grabs your computer while it's logged in can't erase your heroes.

Reserved names#

Characters and accounts can't use names that imitate the game or the staff: SISTEMA/SYSTEM, AVISO, LOOT, GM, ADMIN, SUPORTE/SUPPORT, ACHERON, TESTE/TEST, STAFF and similar ones — including numbers in place of letters (S1STEMA, Adm1n) or starting with GM/ADM as a title (GMRafa).

Banned account#

A banned account can't enter the game, create or delete characters until the ban ends.

On the PC launcher#

Starting with version 1.0.6, the launcher opens the game without putting the session in the page address, and the sign-out button also ends the session on the server. The update is automatic.
