Party
Up to 5 players, +20% experience for the group and a split proportional to level.
Hunting in a party pays off for everyone: the party earns +20% experience over what the monster would give, and that total is split among the members. It is also the only way to use the group healing and summoning skills.
Forming the party#
- Maximum of 5 players.
- To invite, the target must be on the same map, within 10 tiles, and cannot be in another party.
- Use
/party Nome. - Nobody nearby? Post or look for a party from any map in Party Matching.
Whoever invites first becomes the leader. If the leader leaves, leadership passes automatically to the next member.
Only the leader can kick someone or disband the party. When a single member is left, the party disbands on its own.
How experience is split#
The math has three steps:
- The monster generates the experience, already with the penalty for level difference — see levels and experience.
- The party gets +20% on that total.
- The cake is split proportionally to level. A level 300 member in a party with a level 100 one takes three times as much.
Who is in the split: members who are alive, in the same party, within 25 tiles of the monster. Anyone dead or too far away stays out.
There is no level difference limit#
You can party with anyone you want, of any level. The only adjustment is the proportional weight. In practice:
- Bringing a low-level friend does not hurt you. You still take your proportional share and you also get the 20% bonus that would not exist on your own.
- But the low-level friend earns little. They take their share, which is small because their level is small. To really carry someone, hunt on a map suited to their level, not yours.
A party of five players of similar level is the most efficient setup in the game: each one takes about 24% of the experience from a monster that would give 100% alone, but the group kills five times faster.
Friendly fire off#
Members of the same party do not hurt each other, neither with a direct hit nor with area magic. The only exception is Chaos Castle, where it is a free-for-all.
Party skills#
Some skills only make sense in a group:
- Party Heal — heals every member in range.
- Summon Party — pulls the living members on the map to near you. It has a long cooldown, so save it for when someone dies far away.
- Group buffs — some support buffs spread to the whole party in range, instead of going to just one target.
Quests in a party#
Quest kills and item drops count for members who are on the same map. See quests and class change.
Chat#
Talk only to the party by putting ~ in front of the message, or by choosing the PARTY tab in chat.
The right panel shows each member's health live, with class, level and a crown on the leader.
