Legendary Gems and Resonance
Gems that drop from monsters and bosses, grade up by merging two identical ones and add up to Resonance — more damage, more defense and the fire wing.
Legendary Gems are real items: they drop on the ground and go to your bag, warehouse, trade and market. Socketed, they add up to Resonance, which raises your damage and defense and gives birth to the Resonance Wing — the fire wing that grows with you and unlocks free flight.
Sockets#
- There are 4 sockets in the inventory, next to the rings.
- Drag the gem onto a socket, or right-click it in the bag: it goes to the right socket on its own (merges with an identical one, swaps for a higher grade, or takes the first free socket; with all 4 full, it replaces the lowest grade if the new one is better).
- You can't socket two gems of the same type. There are 12 types, each with its own effect.
Grades and evolving#
A gem goes from grade 1 to 10. To grade up, drop one gem onto another identical one — same type and same grade — in the bag: the one below goes up a grade and the one on top is consumed. Different grade, different type or grade 10 don't merge.
| Grade | Resonance | Grade-1 gems to get there |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 20 | 1 |
| 2 | 45 | 2 |
| 3 | 90 | 4 |
| 4 | 165 | 8 |
| 5 | 290 | 16 |
| 6 | 475 | 32 |
| 7 | 750 | 64 |
| 8 | 1,125 | 128 |
| 9 | 1,690 | 256 |
| 10 | 2,500 | 512 |
With all 4 gems at grade 10, Resonance reaches the cap of 10,000.
What Resonance gives#
- +50% damage and +50% defense per 1,000 Resonance (PvP included).
- From 1,000 the Resonance Wing appears and grows every 1,000 — from tier 1 (small) to tier 10 (the largest). Tiers 1 to 3 burn ember red; from tier 4 on it turns golden fire.
- The wing is optional: on the 💎 Gems page, Use my own wing hides the Resonance Wing and shows your equipped wing (resonance still counts in your attributes); Show the Resonance Wing brings it back. Other players see what you choose.
- The wing is a black-and-gold bone frame wrapped in living fire: a dense fan opening upward and flames falling diagonally downward, all animated. Every tier has the same design — only the size changes.
- Standing still, the wing idles: it slowly closes and opens, the bone flexing with it. In flight it really flaps (the stroke goes down fast and up slowly) and glides at speed.
- The wing lights up your character with an orange glow, stronger at night.
- Fire trail (tier 8 and up): while walking or flying, the wing drips drops of fire; where each drop lands the ground catches fire and fades into embers. The fire burns: while walking, every monster within 2 steps of your path takes 10% of your damage per second, once per second — monsters only, walking or flying (the fire falls to the ground), and outside town. The number shows in orange.
- The wing also shows on character select. It hides your item wing (whose stats still count).
Each gem's effect#
Besides Resonance, each gem type has its own effect, which grows with the grade and changes at grades 5 and 10. Since you cannot socket two of the same, up to 4 different effects are active at once (an effect never stacks with itself).
- Against players every effect is worth half (damage bonus, procs, life steal, reductions).
- Effects that trigger on their own have an internal cooldown (not a chance per hit): fast hitters do not trigger them more often than slow hitters.
- Explosion and bolt damage comes from your recent damage per second — it is the same for any class and any skill.
- Damage reductions added together are capped at 60%.
- The buff bar shows one icon per socketed gem: the cooldown drains around the stone, Fury shows its stacks and the Bubble lights up while active.

Where they drop#
| Source | Chance | Usual grade |
|---|---|---|
| Common monster (level 15+) | 0.4% + level × 0.003% per kill (≈ 0.7% at level 100) | almost always grade 1 (level 80+: sometimes 2; 120+: rarely 3) |
| Minor boss (invasion golden, Death King) | 10% | grade 1–2 |
| Medium boss (Maya Hands) | 20% | grade 2–4 |
| Major boss (Medusa, Selupan, Nightmare, Erohim, Kundun, Balgass, Vespara) | 50% | grade 3–6 |
Gems of grade 4 or higher that drop are announced to the whole server. The gem drops reserved for whoever made the drop, like any item.
Protection: gems of grade 7 or higher can't be dropped on the ground by accident.
