Eleven guided steps on each character's first login, and how to redo it whenever you want.
The first time you enter the world with a new character, a golden guide appears on the screen and points to the places that matter. There are eleven steps, and you advance by doing — not by clicking "next".
The eleven steps#

On 10/06 the system message box announced the new steps — you can redo the tutorial from the Help menu.
How it works#
The guide outlines in gold the element it is explaining and shows a balloon with the explanation and the keys.
It hides on its own while the world is loading, on the login screen and when you die — so it never gets in the way.
You can skip at any time. Skipping marks the tutorial as complete and it doesn't come back on its own.
If you leave in the middle, it resumes from the step where you stopped on the next login.
Redoing it#
Open the MENU (button in the bottom right corner or the U key), click ❓ Help and then ▶ Redo guided tutorial.
The same Help page has a permanent summary of the controls:

The tutorial gives no reward#
It is purely explanatory: it gives no item, zen or experience, and it doesn't talk to the server. The goal is to make you use each part of the interface once.
