Class evolution
Second class at 150, hero at 220, third class at 400 — and why the order matters.
A character goes through up to three milestones. Each one comes from a quest, and each one changes what you can do.
| Milestone | Level | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Second class | 150 | new name, locked skills open, +20 points along the way |
| Hero | 220 | +7 points per level above 220, paid all at once |
| Third class | 400 | new name, more skills, +70 points along the way |
The full step-by-step, with NPCs, items and costs, is in quests and class change. This page explains what changes on the character and when to do it.
The names#
| Class | Second | Third |
|---|---|---|
| Dark Wizard | Soul Master | Grand Master |
| Dark Knight | Blade Knight | Blade Master |
| Fairy Elf | Muse Elf | High Elf |
| Summoner | Bloody Summoner | Dimension Master |
| Magic Gladiator | (none) | Duel Master |
| Dark Lord | (none) | Lord Emperor |
| Rage Fighter | (none) | Fist Master |
Magic Gladiator, Dark Lord and Rage Fighter skip the second class. They go straight from the base class to the third, starting with the Treasures of Darkness quest at level 380.
The title appears on your nameplate from the second evolution onward, and the whole server is notified when someone completes the third.
What the evolution unlocks#
Skills. Each skill carries a mark of which evolution it requires. Second-class skills can't be equipped before quest 1, and third-class ones before quest 6. See skills.
Attribute points. The seven quests add up, for anyone who does them all:
| Source | Points |
|---|---|
| Scroll Quest | +10 |
| Proof of Courage | +10 |
| Ring of Honor | (level − 220) × 7 |
| Treasures of Darkness | +20 |
| Barracks Infiltration | +20 |
| The Dark Elf | +30 |
The damage and health formulas don't change. A Blade Master still calculates damage and health with the same formula as the Dark Knight. The evolution gives skills and points, not a new class underneath.
The decision that matters most#
The Ring of Honor quest pays 7 points for every level you have above 220, all at once, the moment you turn it in.
| If you turn it in at level | You get |
|---|---|
| 220 | 0 points |
| 250 | 210 points |
| 300 | 560 points |
| 350 | 910 points |
| 400 | 1,260 points |
Since each normal level gives 5 points, the 1,260 points equal 252 levels. It's by far the biggest single reward in the game.
Don't do the Ring of Honor quest early. Accept it when you really need the points, preferably at level 400.
The important detail: it's a prerequisite for the third-class quest, which you only do at 380 anyway. So holding onto it delays nothing.
The only exception is the Fairy Elf: this quest also unlocks Infinity Arrow, the buff that lets the elf shoot without spending arrows for 30 minutes. If your elf is spending a fortune on arrows, it may be worth doing it earlier and giving up part of the points.
Recommended order#
- Level 150 — quests 0 and 1, at Sebina, in Devias. You become a second class and unlock new skills. Do it as soon as you get there.
- Level 220 — leave the Ring of Honor accepted and the item stored, but don't turn it in.
- Level 220 to 400 — play normally. If you're a Dark Knight, do the Combo quest as soon as possible: it has no scaled reward and the Combo changes your damage right away.
- Level 380 — start the Treasures of Darkness.
- Level 400 — turn in the Ring of Honor (now worth 1,260 points), finish the Infiltration and defeat the Dark Elf.
- After that, Master Level.
Evolution and Reset#
Reset is turned off for now.
Level 400 with the third class is the end of the normal bar. After it come the Master Level, which goes up to 600, and Reset, which has no limit.
Reset doesn't undo your class evolution: finished quests stay finished. But it wipes your attributes and free points — including the 1,260 points from the hero quest, which doesn't repeat — and starts over from level 1 with 25 points per Reset. Think about it before resetting right after turning in the Ring of Honor. See attributes before spending the points.
