Master Level

What comes after level 400 — 600 master levels, 600 points and a tree with 108 slots.

Level 400 is not the end: it is where the game starts over. From there on, all the experience you earn becomes master experience, and each Master Level gives 1 point to spend in a skill tree exclusive to your class.

Here the Master Level goes up to 600, not 200 as in classic MU. That is 600 points to distribute in a tree with 108 slots.

How to get in#

Just reach level 400. You don't need the third class — although doing the quests beforehand is obviously better, because quest 2 gives 1,260 attribute points at level 400.

From there on, the HUD experience bar starts showing the experience of your current Master Level.

The total level goes up to 1000 (400 + 600), and each Master Level is worth 1 point in the tree.

Master Level and Reset#

Reset is turned off for now.

Reset doesn't touch your Master Level: level, points and skills stay saved. While you climb from 1 to 400 again, the tree is switched off — it only works from level 400 up — and no experience becomes master experience. Once you reach 400, everything works again from where it stopped.

The experience#

The Master Level rule is about time: going from 401 to 1000 takes at least 30 calendar days even for the fastest realistic player — VIP 20, in a party, with the weekend doubled, hunting 12 hours a day at the best level 400 spot. The first ML takes about 3 minutes of hunting, like 399→400, and each one takes a little longer than the one before. Each ML's experience comes from the time: minutes for the ML × 15 kills per minute × the experience of one kill at the typical level 400 spot.

Master LevelExp to the nextTotal expTime for the ML (typical player)
0 → 1352,81403.3 min
10 → 11424,7423.8 million3.9 min
50 → 511,108,16332.6 million10 min
100 → 1012,456,539119 million23 min
200 → 2016,237,596542 million58 min
300 → 30111,110,5821.4 billion1.7 h
400 → 40116,866,5942.8 billion2.6 h
500 → 50123,384,8974.8 billion3.6 h
599 → 60030,508,8787.45 billion4.7 h

Reaching ML 600 costs about 7.5 billion experience — around 1,150 hours of hunting for the typical player, or 30 days at the fastest pace. The full table of times (with VIP, weekend and the fastest pace) is in experience and play time. It is the character's long-term project — and the reason why VIP, guild and weather matter so much.

Anyone who already had Master Level before this curve (09/27) lost nothing: ML and points stayed, and the stored experience became the same fraction of the current ML in the new table.

The tree#

Each class has its own, with 60 to 71 nodes, spread across three tabs:

  1. Enhancement
  2. Offensive
  3. Defense and Mastery

Each tab has 9 rows of 4 columns.

The learning rules#

  1. Level 400 at minimum.
  2. The skill must exist in your class's tree.
  3. Each point raises 1 rank. The maximum rank is 20 in most nodes and 10 in some (the weapon masteries, for example).
  4. To learn something in a row, you must already have rank 10 in some skill of the same group in the previous row. That is what makes the tree a tree: you don't jump straight to row 9.
  5. Some nodes have an explicit prerequisite: a specific skill must be at rank 10 or higher.
  6. Skills that replace another require that you know the replaced one.
  7. Some nodes cost 10 points at once — they go straight to rank 10 and don't go up any further. Blood Storm is the example.

What the points do#

The effects cover almost everything on the character sheet:

  • Attack: physical and magic damage, minimum and maximum, hit rate, critical, excellent, double and triple hit, damage of a specific skill, damage with a specific weapon in PvP;
  • Defense: defense, defense percentage, set defense (with the 5 pieces), wing defense, shield defense, Dark Horse defense, reflection, ignore the target's defense;
  • Vitals: health, mana, shield (SD), stamina (AG), and automatic regeneration of each every 2 seconds;
  • Hunting: recover health, mana or shield on every monster killed;
  • Attributes: direct points of strength, agility, vitality, energy and command;
  • Buffs: reinforcement of eleven different buffs;
  • Restoration: chance to fully restore health, mana or shield when attacking.

Some new skills only become available with a rank above zero — they are the actual master skills.

Season 16 nodes#

On October 9, 2026 the tree got the Season 16 nodes that S6 did not have: those of the four new classes (enhancement and mastery of their skills, 3rd wing and weapon) and the ones the original classes gained later, such as the enhancement of the S12 skills and elemental defense. Where Season 16 only renumbered a node your class already has (or repeats a passive, like defense and life), it is not added again. The value per rank follows the equivalent S6 node, and buff enhancement gives +1% buff effect per rank.

What does nothing#

Some durability and poison, lightning and ice resistance nodes exist in the tree, but they have no effect on this server. They came along with the original table. Don't spend points on them.

Master reset#

For 5,000,000 zen you wipe the whole tree and get all the points back. There is no limit on how many times.

This doesn't exist in original MU — it is a convenience from here. Use it without fear: since the tree has 108 slots and you only have 600 points, getting the order wrong is normal, and 5 million zen is cheap next to the hundreds of hours of hunting those points cost.

Where to start#

Since the rows require rank 10 in the previous one, spreading points is the worst possible strategy. The practical rule:

  1. Pick one path inside a group and go down it, leaving rank 10 at each step.
  2. Prioritize health and defense before damage in the first 100 points. You will hunt on maps where dying costs time.
  3. After opening the path to the row that interests you, then invest up to rank 20 in the nodes that really matter.
  4. When you are sure of what you want, do a reset and build a clean tree, without the points spent only to open the path.

The Master panel (★ in the MENU) shows the tree, what each node gives per rank and how many points are left.

After the 4th evolution, each ML above 400 also gives 4 points in the 4th class tree.
