MU Helper and auto-hunt
Two ways for the character to hunt alone — one while you watch, another with the tab closed.
The character knows how to hunt alone: it picks a target, chases it, casts skills, drinks potions, recasts buffs and picks up loot. There are two modes, and the difference between them is what decides your day.
| MU Helper | Auto-hunt | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it hunts | where you are standing | on the map and spot you mark |
| Does it need you online? | yes | no |
| Does it use daily time? | no, it is unlimited | yes, according to your VIP |
| Does it work in events? | no | no |
So: while you have the tab open, hunting for free and without limit is MU Helper. The daily quota only exists for the hunt that continues with you away.
MU Helper#
Turn the Helper on and the character starts hunting exactly where it is, without leaving the chosen spot. The panel shows, live, how many monsters it killed, how many items it picked up and how long it has been running.
The Helper stops on its own when you disconnect. It also refuses to turn on inside any event map (see below).
Each account has 1 character in the world at a time: logging in with another character from the same account disconnects the previous one. Each internet address can have up to 20 accounts in the world and 20 MU Helpers running — enough for families and LAN houses.
No auto-hunt inside events#
Auto-hunt and MU Helper don't work inside events: Devil Square, Blood Castle, Chaos Castle, Illusion Temple, Doppelganger, Imperial Fortress, Kalima, the Kanturu tower, the Raklion arena, Team vs Team and the Ranked Arena. In Crywolf and Loren Valley (Castle Siege) the rule applies only while the event is running — outside it they are hunting grounds like any other. Land of Trials stays free.
If you enter an event with auto-hunt or the Helper on, they turn off right away and the chat tells you. Inside, the buttons are greyed out.
Town and death (10/06): MU Helper doesn't turn on inside the town's safe zone, turns itself off when you walk into it and turns off when the character dies. Head out to the field and turn it on again.
Auto-hunt#
Here you choose the map and the spot. The character travels there and starts hunting — and keeps hunting after you close the tab.
Entry rules:
- the destination is one of the hunting spots on the list (if its center falls on a blocked tile, the server snaps to the nearest free ground);
- event maps don't accept free hunting — Blood Castle, Devil Square and company only get in through registration in the event panel;
- from inside an event you don't travel — you only leave through the event gate;
- in the same area of the map you are already in, the character walks to the spot — no cost and no level;
- on another map or another floor (Lost Tower, Dungeon, Kanturu ruins) it is a trip: it charges the level and zen of the move for that floor;
- after trading blows with another player, the trip waits 10 seconds (30 if you are wanted).
The daily time#
Auto-hunt consumes a quota that resets every day and depends on your VIP level:
| VIP | Time per day |
|---|---|
| 0 (no VIP) | 1 hour |
| 1 | 3 hours |
| 2 | 6 hours |
| 3 | 10 hours |
| 4 | 16 hours |
| 5 or more | 24 hours (unlimited in practice) |
When the quota runs out, the character stops hunting and the chat warns you. MU Helper keeps working normally — it doesn't use this quota.
The hunt options#
Both modes use the same settings panel.
Loot#
- Pick up nothing — the ground stays untouched.
- Only jewels and zen — the most used mode, it keeps your inventory from clogging up.
- Pick up everything.
- Filter — you list categories and pieces of a name. You can write
jewelorexcellentand the character ignores the rest.
The character picks up what is within 1.6 tiles of it automatically, and walks to a desired item that is inside the pickup radius you set (0 to 8 tiles, default 4).
Potions#
- HP potion: you set the threshold, from 10% to 90% health. The default, even with the hunt off, is 45%.
- MP potion: off by default. Turn it on with a threshold of up to 80% if your class lives on mana.
The character drinks the best potion of that type in your inventory, spending one charge at a time — it doesn't burn the whole stack.
Leash#
From 8 to 40 tiles, default 28. It is how far the character can stray from the marked spot before walking back. A short leash keeps the farm concentrated on one spot; a long leash covers a whole map, but runs more risk.
Buffs#
You choose up to 4 support skills for the character to keep on itself. It recasts when the buff is less than 3 seconds from ending, respecting mana and class. The skill armed on the bar, if it is a support one, automatically goes into this list.
Offline progress#
It only applies if you log out with auto-hunt turned on. If you stay more than 5 minutes disconnected, when you log in you get an estimate of exp and zen for the time away, limited to the auto-hunt minutes you still have left today (60 free minutes, more with VIP) and to 8 hours. The calculation uses the average level of the monsters on the map where you logged out, at 3 kills per minute; items and jewels are not included — only exp and zen.
The moral of the story: log out while hunting on a hard map, not in the city.
Limitations#
- Neither the Helper nor auto-hunt works inside events.
- Dying interrupts the hunt and turns the Helper off: the character respawns standing still in the city.
- The hunt doesn't change maps on its own or chase bosses.
