First steps
What to do in your first hour, from level 1 to 50, without wasting time.
You're in, you picked your class and you're in Lorencia. Now what? This is the script for your first hour.
1. Do the tutorial#
It shows up on its own the first time each character logs in and takes about three minutes. It's eight steps that teach the essentials: moving, attacking, potions, skills, inventory, auto-hunt, market and chat.
You can skip it, and you can redo it later with the ❓ Help button in the MENU. See tutorial.
2. Kill anything near town#
The first levels go by fast. Click a monster and your character does the rest. Up to level 10 you don't need to think about anything.
Two things to do in the meantime:
- Spend your points. Each level gives 5. See attributes — but the rule of thumb is: put everything into your class's main attribute until level 50.
- Wear whatever drops. Anything is better than nothing at the start.
3. Buy potions#
Lorencia has several vendors — Potion Girl Amy, Hanzo, Lumen, Pasi and the Wandering Merchants — and they all open the same shop: weapons, armor, accessories, potions and event items, in tabs. Buy health and mana potions in the Potions tab and check the sets with Luck in the Armor tab. Details in NPC shops.
Between purchases, natural regeneration helps: staying 5 seconds out of combat, you recover 6% of your health per second.
4. Turn on MU Helper#
This is the step that saves the most time, and many people take a while to discover it.
Press Home, configure it and turn it on. Your character starts hunting on its own where you are: it picks a target, chases it, uses a skill, drinks a potion below 45% health and picks up whatever you tell it to.
MU Helper is unlimited and free — it doesn't consume your daily hunt quota. See MU Helper and auto-hunt.
Set the loot filter to "jewels and zen only". Your inventory is small.
5. Travel when you can#
| Your level | Go to |
|---|---|
| 10 | stay in Lorencia or Noria |
| 20 | Devias |
| 30 | Dungeon |
| 50 | Lost Tower |
Press M to open the destination list. Travel costs zen and requires a level — see maps and travel.
6. Look at the sky before picking a spot#
The card in the top left corner shows the time and the weather. It's not just for show:
- At night, in an open map, you get at least +20% experience.
- A storm at night gives +35%.
- Snow at night gives the same +35% without cutting drops.
See day, night and weather. It's the easiest bonus to get in the game, and it's free.
7. Keep what's worth keeping#
The inventory fills up fast. Three destinations for the excess:
- Sell all, at the bottom of the inventory. It only sells equipment — it doesn't touch jewels, potions or quest items. Click without fear.
- Vault, through the warehouse NPC.
- Personal shop — what you don't use, another player wants.
Never throw a jewel away. Bless, Soul, Life, Chaos and Creation are the real currency of the server. See jewels.
8. Buy VIP 1#
As soon as you gather 100,000 zen, buy VIP level 1. It gives +5% experience, +5% zen, +2% drop — and, above all, triples your daily auto-hunt time, from 1 hour to 3.
It's the best purchase in the game early on.
9. Log off in the right place#
If you stay away for more than 5 minutes, when you come back you get experience and zen for the time away, capped at 8 hours.
The calculation uses the average level of the monsters on the map where you logged off. So leave the game on the hardest map you can handle, never in town.
10. Join the events#
The Events panel, on the right side, tells you when something opens. Start with:
- Devil Square — every two hours, at :30. Every monster is worth 4× your spot, free entry from level 15.
- Blood Castle — on the hour. Every monster is worth 3× your spot.
Both are free, require no item at all and are worth much more than farming alone in the same time.
The next milestones#
| Level | What happens |
|---|---|
| 40 | Kalima opens |
| 150 | second class — see quests |
| 220 | accept the Ring of Honor quest, but don't turn it in |
| 270 | Raklion |
| 380 | start the third class |
| 400 | turn in the Ring of Honor (worth 1,260 points!) and start Master Level |
Common mistakes for beginners#
- Spreading attribute points around. You can't redistribute them later. Pick your class's attribute and go all in.
- Turning in the Ring of Honor quest at level 220. It pays 7 points per level above 220 — at 400 that's 1,260 points. At 220, zero.
- Using Jewel of Soul on a +7 item. If it fails, the item goes back to +0. See item levels.
- Hunting monsters that are too weak. A monster 10 levels below you already cuts your experience.
- Ignoring the weather. That's 35% experience waiting for you to look at the corner of the screen.
- Not turning on MU Helper. It's free and unlimited.
Sitting on chairs#
Click a chair, bench or stump and your character walks there and sits, facing the chair's way — those nearby see it. It works on the chairs of Devias (the castle ones too), Lorencia, Dungeon, Noria, Tarkan, Kanturu, Elbeland and Valley of Loren (the castle throne is only for the master of the owner guild). You can't sit while mounted; walking, attacking or using a skill makes you stand up.
