Jewel of Harmony

An option rolled at 50% chance, which levels up with refining stones — and can crash down on failure.

The Jewel of Harmony adds an extra option to the item, rolled from a list. Then you level up that option with refining stones, up to a cap of 13. It is the deepest upgrade system that is fully working on the server.

Everything happens at the Refinery, with Osbourne or Jerridon, in Aida, at coordinates (78, 13) and (86, 13).

Some texts inside the game still say "Crywolf". Both NPCs are in Aida.

Applying it#

  • Costs 1 Jewel of Harmony.
  • Chance: 50%. The jewel is consumed either way.
  • The option is rolled — you don't choose.

It doesn't work on: an item that already has Harmony, an item with socket, and the "Lucky Items".

The option type depends on what you're refining:

  • Weapon (sword, axe, mace, spear, bow)
  • Staff
  • Armor (shield, helm, chest, pants, gloves, boots)

The options#

The roll is weighted: the most common options are the simplest ones, and the best only appear on items with high refinement. Each option has a base level — if your item is +5 and the option requires base level 6, it doesn't even enter the roll.

The options that reduce strength and agility requirements have no effect on this server — if one comes out, remove it and try again.

Leveling up the option#

With refining stones:

StoneChance
Lower refining stone50%
Higher refining stone70%

The stone is consumed in both cases.

Two limits: the option level never goes above the item's +N and never goes above 13. That is, to have a level 13 option you need an item +13 or better.

The risk#

On failure, the option goes back to its base level. It's not −1: it's the zero of that option.

This means taking an option from base level 0 up to 13 can cost many attempts — and each failure throws everything away. A crit damage option (base level 6) that fails at level 12 goes back to 6.

Use Higher refining stones at the top of the ladder, when you have more to lose. The difference between 50% and 70% matters much more at level 12 than at level 2.

Inactive option#

If the option has a level higher than the item's +N — which can happen if the item drops in level on a failed Jewel of Soul — it becomes inactive. The Refinery marks this clearly. Refine the item back and it works again.

Removing the option#

It costs from 100,000 zen (level 0 option) to 500,000 zen (level 13), depending on the current level. It never fails.

It's what you do when the roll gave a bad option: pay, remove and apply another Harmony.

Where to get the materials#

Everything comes from Elpis, in Kanturu Tower:

MaterialHow
Jewel of Harmonypurify 1 Gemstone — 100% chance
Lower refining stonefuse a common item — 50%
Higher refining stonefuse an excellent item — 100%

The fused item is always destroyed, whether it gives a stone or not. Only weapons, staves and armors +4 or better can be fused, and ancient items or items with Harmony are refused.

In other words: every excellent piece you won't use is worth a guaranteed Higher refining stone. Before selling that excellent chest piece that doesn't fit your class, consider fusing it.

Gemstone drops from monsters. The Jewel of Harmony is also in the cash shop, for 8,000 Cash.
